ICAM Embeds Quality Control in MOC
![]()
The formal Management of Change process is a form of Quality Control.
Prior to the implementation of any change, the requirement to analyze implications ensures that the effect of any change on other areas is considered. Additionally, the requirement to communicate any changes implemented to the appropriate parties is managed as a part of quality control.
ICAM features and functionality support the requirements to:
1. React to change - Through the scheduled review of conditions associated with the system, changes will be recognized and acted upon as required
2. Categorize change - Many changes do NOT require a formal MOC process, yet they do need to be captured and categorized in a performance based environment
3. Formal management of change process - Changes with potential high impact may require a formal MOC process that includes documenting the nature of the change, the analysis of implications, the management approval, the implementation and finally, the communication of the change to the appropriate parties
